This is only a Test
Over the past weekend the wife and I made our every other month trip to Sam's Club. While strolling in we walked past the big screen Tv's with football on them. Erin (wife) says, hey that sure would be nice for football and movies! Thinking to my self, Damn right woman! the bigger the better. i play along and ask what size would you think we would get? She thinks a 50' Plasma would do. Very Nice! After looking at a couple for a few minutes I begin to get back to our real shopping list. We don't get more than 10 steps and we come across a Bose surround sound. She says to me, Wouldn't that be great to have? Much better than having wires all over the place and better sound. I says Damn right woman! I explain to her how that would allow us to get rid of the DVD player and receiver because it takes care of it with that 'little thingy' there. WOW! Once again we start on our path to the real reason we went there and continue our day. That evening she starts to measure out where the tv would fit in our apartment and how we could rearrange the furniture to make everything look 'better'. Now the question I have to anyone reading this is a simple one, Is this just a test? Is this one of those times that she has baited me and just waiting for me to say lets go get it and then she snaps? Why does she want a big Tv? It can't just be because she doesn't like the food at BW3's (Buffalo WildWings, don't know exactly where the 3's part came from). Seeing the Notebook on a 50' Plasma with incredible Bose sound probably doesn't do a lot more than seeing it on a 27' tv. Does it? She can't really want me to have a bigger TV than almost anyone in my Fantasy Football league, she knows that means everyone will be at The Penthouse (my pad) every Sunday, Monday, and occasionally on Thursdays and Saturdays, right? The next thing you know she will want to get a kegerator for good measure. Maybe put up some pictures of the Swedish ski team. At this point the decision on the Tv is a hold, but only until I can determine with more certainty if it is only a test.

A Yankee Dilema
Greetings to you. It is the Dawg days of August and the baseball season will soon be playing second fiddle to NFL games that mean less than a Lions scrimmage. As I sit at home filling out my box scores for the yankee game vs the blue jays, I begin to think about the conundrum that I am in. I am a yankee fan. (Insert Boo here... Insert other comments here) Say what you will but my parents had it right when I was young. I had the Pj's with the feet on them and Yankee pinstripes. Look out for the zipper on those things, the effects can be lifelong. But I was listening to the am radio and the announcers were discussing some changes to the lineup that the Boss might be considering. I look back to last year and all of the discussion of letting Bernie Williams go. Being a yankee fan and knowing what it was that Bernie did for this team I was pissed. Now the talk is about who they could bring in to replace Mo. Dang! Nothing like getting rid of one of the best closers ever. Now this is where the problem starts. To be a Yankee fan to me that means doing what it takes to win. Right now they aren't winning. Yup not winning a world series means not winning. Just winning your division every year doesn't define winning (see twins past five seasons). So to make changes and try to win is what i should expect and demand as a dreaded yank. But to see some of these guys leave the team would be really strange. Seeing Jorge in a Royals uni would be just too much. Having joe leave and someone else sit there and collect checks and rings would be weird. But even more uncomfortable than seeing Mo play in Chavez Ravine is the lack of the bling. It is all about the ring. So I say make the moves, do what you have to, just get another championship in New York before they leave the house that Ruth Built for the Compound that George erected. Do work son.

Testing the waters
Okay so it has been a bit, almost two weeks since my first blog, and that probably doesn't make for very good blogging. So I will attempt to keep a little bit more up to date. The wife, Erin... Hottie, and I fell into the wonderful world of Wii this weekend. I was one of those guys that was at Best Buy waiting for them to unlock the doors. Felt weird. Anyway, got the game and two others to jump right into the new experience; Tiger Woods Golf and The Bigs. I was very torn between conflicting emotions when I came home the other day and found Erin playing Tiger Woods. Torn between the fact that my wife was having fun playing a game that we can enjoy together, and the fact that she was playing MY game and enjoying it. Troubling times. Tiger Woods is fun, but seems very similar to the old PS2 versions and doesn't seem to offer too much different yet. Haven't had a chance to play Bigs yet due to my brother having his appendix taken out this weekend. I got to run over to Bermidji and play babysitter to my niece.
For those of you who know me.... okay for all of those that don't just a couple quick notes on me. I am a UND grad with a degree in Commercial Aviation and currently trying to finish up my MBA. Why would a guy with an aviation degree be working at a bank and getting his MBA you ask? Well that can be summed up in two simple responses. 1. That smokin hot wife of mine. Why would I want to be flying all over the place when I can be with my wife. I have been told by certain people, who will remain nameless, that sometimes you have to make decisions in your life that will hurt your personal life and help your professional life. I married Erin because I wanted to be with her, not so that I could see her on my off days. 2. 9-11. It might be a bit narrow minded and completely selfish, but when they did that I was sitting in an aviation class thinking about how screwed any chances of this aviation thing happening were about to become.
I enjoy playing softball during our summers. The black uniforms were not my idea.
I occasionally will enjoy a frosty cool Coors Light. yeah I know it is a weak beer, but it does the trick for me. Don't tell Erin, but the Black, Red, and White wedding colors had a lot more to do with the beverages being served than she thinks.
I like a good movie and believe that if the movie is good enough you should need to see it multiple times to really enjoy it. Some that should be seen include; The Natural, The Game, Caddyshack, All Adam Sandler Movies except Punch Drunk Love, Most Will Ferril movies especially Anchorman, Gladiatior, The Godfather Trilogy with the second one being the best, Star Wars, Crash, Clue, and The Lord of the Rings movies. I also like CSI, if you need to borrow one of the seasons that are out on DVD let me know, the original one not all of the knockoffs. West Wing used to be a show that I didn't miss, if you need to borrow one of the seasons... you know.
Music... should be something that you can listen to. None of this angry, hate, kill, harder than hard metal crap. If I wanted to listen to someone scream, i would make them. I'll do a nice little mix of the country, pop, classic rock, rap, and whatever else doesn't suck. The best concerts that I have been to have been Dave Matthews and Garth Brooks, opposite ends of the spectrum, just a good time. The setting plays a huge roll as to what type of music is most fitting.
And this is where I think I lost myself in this blog thing. Was just typing and noticed that I wasn't filling out my profile for a photo shoot for playgirl. Will try and tighten it up for the next one. I'll give this one a solid 7. For content covered, but lack of a stream of thought....

Blogging For Blogs Sake
Here goes nothing. I was informed by a wise friend that Blogging was a fun and easy thing to do. So here I am today... blogging. It is easy. Might have to wait for the fun part to come about. I don't really know what I want to do with this site, but am sure that the abundance of free time that I have will fill this site with many interesting tidbits of information. This is my first time, so I know it was quick and not all that good. With practice and a few Coors Lights, I am sure to get better at it. Works with almost everything else.
